Autograph letter signed, 2pp, 4to, Literary Times Office, 6 Catherine Street, 26 Oct. n.y. To J. Burn, regarding payment for his contribution of the "Addison" letters: "As this department rests entirely in my hands -- and as no negotiations for papers can be made except thro' me -- I must beg you to call upon me . . . . Mr. Altwood informs me that he has paid you two sovereigns on my account -- this week -- and I cannot consent to a further advance until we have held some conversation together . . . .". Lightly worn; some browning to edges; clean tear to upper fold; small tear to edge. Together with a rare 4-page leaflet containing a printed poem by Bayley, entitled "The Citation of Wycliffe: A Very Beautiful and Spirited Mezzotint Engraving by Mr. J. Egan. After a Picture by Mr. S.J.E. Jones." (Cornhill: Harding & King, n.d.). In very good condition.
