Autograph letter signed, one page, 4to, Oxford Villa, Cheltenham, 12 September 1828. To F.M. Reynolds: "I return the proof, & beg to observe that the two corrections made by me in the former proof have not been corrected. I have again m[ark]ed them. [I ca]nnot accept your apolo[gy] merely however because you had given no offense. On the contrary when I am in Town next spring I hope Hook will make me personally acquainted with you. I am much pleased with the prospectus, & have given one to the principal librarian here....'' Addressed and free-franked on the verso by the recipient[?]. Worn, and a little soiled; a few small repairs at wax seal (affecting a few words of text); traces of paper tape along verso margin, but in good condition.

Frederic Mansel Reynolds, eldest son of the dramatist Frederic Reynolds, edited The Keepsake from 1828 to 1835, and, from 1838-9. (Item ID: 4808)
