Rare manuscript poem, one page, tall 4to, Hindham Road, Upper Tooting, no date, in the hand of an amanuensis and signed by Hake in full at the end. The text contains a few revisions in the author's shaky hand and is entitled "Albinia.'' This poem, eighteen lines in three stanzas, begins: "Whither goes the pale maiden, is she gone forth to pray? / 'Tis a year since the soul she loved best passed away. / The flash of her eyes that would sparkle o'er tears / Like the light of a gem no more worn, disappears, / ....'' Some wear and soiling; one small tear; traces of paper tape along left margin verso, else good. (Item ID: 2532)
