Autograph letter signed, one page, 8vo, The Sheiling, Silverdale nr. Carnforth, Lancs., 21 November 1933. To the secretary of the Vaughan Players, replying: "I am much obliged by your . . . interest in my anologue 'A Parting.' I shall be pleased for your Company to use it at their coming performance. While recognising the justice of an universal percentage system for royalties, I find great difficulties in applying it with any fairness to the author when there are a number of short plays in one bill -- and this of mine only plays about 15 minutes. So I find the simplest and fairest way is to charge half-a-guinea for each performance. . . ." Mounted to another sheet. Foxed and with some bleed through of browning from glue; else good. (Item ID: 21096)
