Louise Chandler Moulton (1835-1908); American author and literary hostess, published her first verse at the age of 15, and continued writing popular poetry for much of her life. She also published narrative sketches, "editorials," and stories for children. In addition to being an important figure in Boston, Moulton's reputation extended to Europe where she regulary spent six months of the year. She introduced American audiences to the Pre-Raphaelites and the French Symbolists, largely due to her friendships with William Morris, Burne-Jones, Mallarme, etc. (Item ID: 16038)
