With the printed photographer's copyright "King" on the bottom of the mount, and with the more elaborate advertising and identification of Horatio N. King, 4 Avenue Rd. Villas, Goldhawk Road, London, Photographer to ". . . The King of Siam &c."on the verso. Some fading a light soiling and edgewear, else good.

Frederic William Farrar (1831-1903); India-born English novelist, historian, and theologian. His book for boys, Eric, or Little by Little: A Tale of Roslyn School (Edinburgh, 1858), founded on his own days at King William's College, was immensely popular in its time. Farrar became Canon of Westminster in 1875, was made Archdeacon of Westminster in 1883 and was named Dean of Canterbury in 1895. (Item ID: 12506)
